Job Description Registered Nurse - Float Staff – Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus for start by December 31, 2025. Eligible for an additional $6/hour premium pay (about $11,000/year at 0.9 FTE). Location: Mayo Clinic Hospital RMC and SMC, Float Staff Responsibilities The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, providing direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, and may involve leadership activities such as precepting, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, patient acuity, resources, and fiscal accountability. The role may require driving a personal vehicle as part of responsibilities. This position offers a dynamic environment across inpatient units, including general care, Progressive Care Units (PCU), and Intensive Care, after orientation. External candidates and internal promotions into RN roles are eligible for sign-on incentives. Qualifications Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA-accredited). If not from an accredited program, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of Mayo Clinic LPN experience is required. All entry-level associate degree RNs with a start date after April 1, 2020 must provide documentation of baccalaureate degree completion within five years from the RN start date; those with a start date before April 1, 2020 must provide evidence of degree completion as required by the hire date. One year of RN experience in an applicable setting or one year of current Mayo Clinic LPN experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, computer skills (EMR experience preferred), and the ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. Current RN license in the applicable state. BLS competency required (Midwest states); AZ and FL maintain BLS; some roles may not require BLS for non-campus assignments. Additional state licensure and/or specialty certifications as required by the work area. Exemption Status: Nonexempt Compensation: Pay range $42.84 – $70.41 per hour.
