Pre-Litigation Attorney Job Description

\n Job Title: Pre-Litigation Attorney

\n

\n Type of Position: Full Time

\n

\n Location: Usually, M-F 9-5 pm and flexible; however, attorney must also be flexible. The position will require traveling and driving to locations and may require being available outside of business hours and on some weekends, depending on investigation and as needed to meet and speak with clients

\n

\n Pay: $100K/year – $160k/year

\n

Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work within a dynamic and fast paced environment
\n
• Pay strong attention to details in drafting court documents
\n
• Compile all possible information, evidence and documentation, including medical records and bills, loss of earnings documentation and change in lifestyle information, that will help the legal department build a case
\n
• Negotiate claims
\n
• Follow up with clients
\n
• Appear in front of a judge for hearings
\n
• Review and evaluate liability and insurance availability for cases in pre-litigation
\n
• Build client relationships and communicate with clients and family members during pre-litigation
\n
• Conduct investigations – collect and analyze evidence in order to determine all potential claims and liability, potential defendants, and insurance coverages
\n
• Conduct legal research
\n
• Investigate facts of loss and research application of case law
\n
• Analyze, manage, and review evidence to assess liability and determine case plan
\n
• Draft government claim forms and demand letters
\n
• Communicate with adjusters; draft correspondence as needed
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Licensed attorney in California
\n
• Comfortable meeting with clients/potential clients both on-site and off-site
\n
• Comfortable with travelling and open to flexible hours as necessary
\n
• Comfortable with meeting/discussing cases with experts
\n
• Creative and flexible
\n
• Work well with others and have strong communication skills
\n
• Work well under pressure
\n
• Communicate well in writing with attention to detail
\n
