Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior trade compliance professional to join the companys International Trade Compliance (ITC) group.

This is a hybrid position based in Washington D.C. or another General Atomics office location in the United States; successful candidate not based in San Diego will be required to travel to San Diego occasionally for meetings, training, etc.

This role involves providing critical trade compliance guidance, obtaining export authorizations, and supporting global business strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep export controls expertise, experience in defense and commercial export licensing, and strong liaison skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drafting and obtaining U.S. Department of State and Commerce export authorizations.
• Collaborating with stakeholders at program reviews and business development meetings.
• Advising stakeholders on trade compliance issues and developing mitigation solutions.
• Supporting trade compliance processes, including export classification, authorization management, and technical information reviews.
• Managing authorization activities within the ITC automated system, OCR EASE.
• Bringing political acumen and collaboration skills to support export licensing efforts.
• Performing other ITC-related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant fields with extensive experience in trade compliance.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Deep understanding of import/export laws, licensing principles, and trade compliance best practices.
• Leadership skills and ability to handle complex technical and administrative issues.
• Expertise in U.S. export control laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, with willingness to travel.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $116,480 - $208,505
