Job Title: Hardware Engineering Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead our team in the design, development, and maintenance of advanced hardware systems for aerospace applications. This role is responsible for ensuring that all hardware components, including aircraft, support equipment, and ground test systems, meet stringent safety, performance, and reliability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, fostering innovation and professional development.

  • Establish and manage engineering workflows, assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely project delivery.

  • Oversee the design, testing, and integration of hardware components to meet industry standards.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, performance, reliability, and environmental specifications.

  • Drive innovation and optimization in hardware architecture, circuits, and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, systems engineering, and quality assurance, for seamless hardware-software integration.

  • Work closely with product managers, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation and budget adherence.

  • Oversee risk management processes, identifying and mitigating potential risks.

  • Provide status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Review and approve detailed engineering documentation, including designs, test plans, and reports.

  • Maintain traceability of hardware requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Oversee environmental testing (DO-160: vibration, thermal, etc.) to validate product performance.

  • Analyze test data, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement corrective actions.

  • Lead initiatives to enhance existing hardware systems and improve manufacturing processes.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure hardware designs meet functional and operational requirements.

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support project and organizational objectives.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution.

  • 9+ years of experience in electrical and electronic engineering, including instrumentation.

  • Experience with environmental testing (vibration, thermal, shock testing) for aerospace components.

  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, embedded systems, PCB design, and hardware/software integration.

  • Proficiency in hardware design and simulation tools.

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and certifications (DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD, etc.).

  • Knowledge of hardware validation and verification processes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and interact with multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.

  • Effective time management and supervisory skills.
