The Assistant Technology Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of electrical equipment through routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance in accordance with company standards. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting, proficient use of hand and power tools, and the assembly of electronic sub-assemblies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the capability to interpret and work in technical schematics. Success in this role depends on effective collaboration and communication within a multidisciplinary team environment.

This position is dynamic and may include additional responsibilities beyond those listed, depending on operational needs.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively troubleshoots and analyzes technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing timely solutions.
  • Disassembles equipment to access and replace defective components using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Interprets parts manuals and schematic diagrams to determine required components and proper repair procedures.
  • Opens and closes assigned work orders with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining detailed records of work performed.
  • Installs, calibrates, and adjusts electronic monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance across various platforms.
  • Performs diagnostic testing and repairs on electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Modifies existing installations of electronic monitoring equipment and conducts routine safety equipment testing.
  • Manages inventory of Electronic Technology Parts, ensuring availability and proper documentation of components.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to emergency service calls at fuel stations, minimizing downtime.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and collaborates effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years’ experience working with electronics (GPS, Wiring, basic schematics)
  • Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and reporting is a plus.
  • TWIC Card (and/or the ability to obtain a TWIC Card) preferred, but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications such as Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing tasks.
  • Familiarity with using hand tools not limited to screwdrivers, socket wrenches, and specialized mechanic tools, cut-off saws, drills, portable band saws, skill saws, air impact wrenches, grinders, etc.
