The position reports to the Director of Clinical Services. The position requires a Wound Care Certified Nurse Practitioner who is experienced, team-oriented, and able to provide expert wound care recommendations in an asynchronous consultative capacity via a virtual platform. The nurse practitioner will provide treatment recommendations via the virtual platform, following evidence-based guidelines, oversee recurrent consultation, providing recommendations for the clinically complex, while monitoring clinical quality of care, and ensuring regulatory and company compliance. This is a remote position, which requires work from home, utilizing a computer, laptop, cell phone, and other technological devices. Qualified candidates will have a strong knowledge of evidenced based wound care practices, and desired outcomes. The Wound Certified Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the clinical leadership team to monitor healing outcomes, clinical efficiency, and appropriateness of care.
Provide care oversight across the virtual platform.
Provide prompt wound assessment and customer wound care guidance, including outreach by phone when needed.
Provide clinical wound care recommendations, order treatment indicated dressings in appropriate quantities and ancillary wound supplies utilizing the corrections virtual platform and formulary.
Implement and monitor daily client communications via virtual platform, email and by phone when needed.
Complete documentation for clinical care instructions, communications, wound care supply orders, and tracking details for ordered supplies that meets company and regulatory guidelines in the virtual platform.
Participate in customer training for utilization of the telehealth portal, including travel for onsite presentation.
Participate in developing educational materials and newsletters.
Participate in outreach to facilities for information gathering and continuity of care.
Participate in review of practice guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures as requested.
Provide some after-hours and holiday coverage as scheduled.
Travel for meetings and onsite presentations.
Provide oversight of care provided by RNs working in the virtual platform.
Demonstrates proficiency in recognizing when to seek supervisory or colleague collaboration when a wound fails to progress toward healing as expected.
Participate in Data Validation.
Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breech Notification Rule.
Qualifications/Education:
Certified through ANCC or AANP as a Nurse Practitioner
WOCN certification or other company approved wound care certification required.
U.S. Citizenship
Currently licensed as a professional nurse and advanced practice nurse. Will need to attain and maintain multi-state licensure.
Proficient in English.
BLS certification as necessary for multi-state licensure.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience treating chronic wounds in a hospital, outpatient, or post-acute setting.
Direct patient care experience.
Electronic medical records proficient.
Skills:
Superior communication skills, both oral and written
Exemplary understanding of evidence-based wound care, ability to educate the corrections clients to aid in patient compliance and positive outcomes.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other health care members.
Proficient computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Products and Google documents.
Ability to think critically and multitask.
Demonstrated accountability.
Requirements:
Current, unencumbered nursing license
