Leading growing company in Adelanto, CA, is now hiring full-times experienced UTR (Yard Goat/Hostler) .

Responsible for organizing chassis, trailers, and containers within the yard ensuring efficiency of space, and access for pick up, deliveries and transfer equipment.

Schedule- (Mon-Sat) 5am-1:30pm, plus up to 10 hour shifts till 3;30pm as needed, and weekends

Pay Rate: $18.00-$24.00 an hour

Duties:

• · 3 years plus, experience as a Yard Driver (Hostler/Jockey) within intermodel yard.
• Move empty or loaded trailers from parking areas in tight spaces.
• Staging containers from shipping dock lanes or storage areas.
• Yard driver will connect/disconnect trailers from tractors.
• Pre-trip inspection (tires, signal lights, brake lights, kingpin, fifth wheel, coupling equipment is in good working order).
• Specific inspection ( fuel, oil, hydraulic system, fluid levels, other basic mechanical components).
• Ensure correct position for loading and unloading. 
• Maintain organized and clean yard.
• Proper documentation and reporting mechanical issues.
• Able to communicate with equipment control two way radio.
• Assist drivers entering yard to help locate, or access or move equipment.

Requirements:

• Required to skill test prior to starting
• Valid Driver License-Class C, (provide proof of 3 year driving history) MVR Printout
• Ability to use two radio
• Ability to use computer/smart phone service
• Ability to communicate, read and write English
• Ability to perform out doors and subject to weather change including, heat cold, rain, wind, snow.
