Position Summary
The role of the Computer Science Subject Expert Teacher (SET) is to ensure the day-to-day exceptional education of students by preparing and facilitating subject specific lesson plans. Subject Expert Teachers implement the established BASIS Curriculum while tailoring specific topics to integrate their knowledge and passion for the subject.
COMPUTER SCIENCE COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an introductory course aimed to familiarize students with the worlds of computers and logic. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of computer and logic topics, all presented with the goal of preparing the students for future coursework in computer science. In this course, students will learn basic computer usages, including how to use common software like Microsoft Word; how the internet operates and what happens when we place a phone call; basic web design, including introductory HTML; how to use the drag-and-drop programming language Scratch; and mathematical logic, including logical arguments and applications like binary systems.

Position Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject from an accredited college or university. Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Public Safety (DPS) clearance.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related subject.
Preferred Experience: 2+ years teaching/education experience

Benefits and Salary: Starting teacher Salary is $43,000 and is negotiable dependent on education and experience. BASIS Ed offers a comprehensive benefits package.
