American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week assignment performing general and cardiac nuclear medicine procedures with a minimum of 2 years' experience and required licensure.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a hospital-based nuclear medicine department with 4 rooms and PET/CT
  • Perform general nuclear medicine studies including bone, renal, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDAs, thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroids, VQ perfusions, and cardiac procedures
  • Care for patients across all ages from adolescents to geriatrics
  • Daily caseload averages 15-18 studies
  • Shift is 5x8s, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • On-call required one night per week and one weekend per month, with call hours from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM and 24 hours on weekends
  • Floating may be required in rotation with staff per client policy
  • Uses PACS and Epic Radiology CT Online system (EPIC training required)
  • Daily responsibilities include preparation, administration, and measurement of radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic studies
  • Expected to calculate doses, prepare stock solutions, and ensure safe handling of radioactive materials
  • Orientation includes up to 7 hours of online modules and 16 hours of NBO
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season; requests for exemption must meet CMS guidelines
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption required
  • Pewter grey scrubs required
  • Smoke and nicotine-free facility
  • Must be available to work some holidays
  • Seasoned travelers preferred, but experienced first-time travelers may be considered
  • Must wait one year if previously employed at the facility
\n \n Requirements\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
  • Current BLS and NMTCB certification required; ARRT preferred
  • VA nuclear medicine technologist license required, or proof of application and active license from another state and application for VA license (license required if applicable)
  • Proficiency in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and PACS
  • Experience independently performing cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, and myocardial procedures
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred; mandatory EPIC Radiology CT class required
