American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California.

American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with a current CA license and advanced NICU experience, including the ability to float to PICU and CTICU.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a Critical Care Float position within a hospital setting
  • Primary assignment in NICU Level III, with float requirements to PICU and CTICU
  • Neonatal patient population, including exposure to a variety of high-acuity cases
  • Day shifts, 3x12 hours (07:00-19:30), with every other weekend or as needed
  • Float within the hospital based on census needs
  • Uses Epic documentation system
  • Candidates will float between NICU, PICU, and CTICU as needed
  • First-time travelers accepted if they meet the NICU experience requirement
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off will be considered, excluding specified blackout dates
  • RTO must be approved and included at submission
  • Pre-employment modules and Epic training are required and completed prior to start
  • Locals are accepted at a local rate for candidates within 50 miles

  • Active CA RN license required and must be in hand for consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Level III NICU experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced NRP certifications required
  • Proficiency in phototherapy, tube feeding/gavage, blood and blood product administration, PICC and peripheral line management, anti-seizure medications, caffeine, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence management, phlebotomy, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilators
  • Must complete Epic EMR training prior to start
  • Previous permanent staff from this facility are not eligible
  • No Nursys disciplinary action
  • At least one reference within the past 2 years
