Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Title Examiner to join a respected Nebraska-based title company. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in the real estate closing process by researching public records and examining property titles to ensure clear ownership before real estate transactions take place.

Responsibilities:

• Research and examine public records to determine property ownership history and identify any issues with the title (liens, encumbrances, restrictions, etc.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize findings in a title commitment or report
• Identify title defects and assess steps necessary for resolution
• Communicate with internal team members, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders as needed
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and industry regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in title examination, abstracting, or a related real estate field
• Strong understanding of legal descriptions, property records, and title documentation
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in title software systems (e.g., SoftPro, ResWare, or similar)
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Nebraska real estate records and title processes
• Notary Public (preferred but not required)
• ALTA certification or equivalent (a plus)

The base pay range for this position is $50,0000 + DOE, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
