Job Description Summary The Therapeutic Area Strategy Head, Radioligand Therapy (RLT), will lead a team focused on creating and updating a holistic enterprise portfolio strategy for RLT, a key growth pillar at Novartis. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Research-Development-Commercial continuum+ (RDC+), which includes Biomedical Research, Development, and Commercial functions in the US and internationally. They should bring a passion for innovation, extensive RLT industry experience, scientific expertise, and strong judgment to guide strategic choices and foster sustainable growth. This individual will possess a broad and deep understanding of the RLT platform, including imaging and isotopes, to identify competitive advantages and explore white space opportunities through external analysis and primary research. LI-#hybrid Job Description Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides external perspective and identifies opportunities: Develops in-depth knowledge of the TA, from early pipeline to commercial, including disease models, and monitors peer companies. Shares insights with internal stakeholders and contributes to portfolio governance, including landscape mapping and M&A activities. Identifies growth opportunities, indications, and disease spaces, while filtering out low-value projects. Supports investor relations and executive leadership with strategic insights. Continuously gathers and synthesizes scientific and commercial insights relevant to the TA. Owns TA portfolio strategy and prioritization: Leads the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide TA portfolio strategy, including selection of drugs, molecules, and isotopes to support growth, in collaboration with RDC and RDC+. Internal and External Commercial and Pipeline Modelling: Evaluates programs for alignment with current portfolio strategy and facilitates reviews at governance meetings. Provides consolidated inputs for business cases involving internal and external assets, programs, and isotopes. Offers independent external perspectives on internal assumptions and pipeline assessments. Develops assessments of external opportunities, including forecasts and business cases. Others: Leads talent development, partnering with P&O to develop organizational strategies. Manages the TA strategy budget, forecasting expenditures and ensuring fiscal responsibility. What you’ll bring to the role: Advanced degree or equivalent in life sciences or healthcare; MBA preferred. Excellent communication skills in English. ≥10 years in pharma/biotech, with experience in drug development and commercialization, preferably with banking or consulting background. >3 years of experience with RLT technology. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with C-suite and mid-level staff. Robust financial and business acumen, with understanding of the biopharma landscape. Strategic vision, leadership, negotiation, and influence skills. Proven experience in team leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
