Job Description

Job Description

We’re seeking an accomplished Technical Project Manager (TPM) experienced in leading high-performance software infrastructure initiatives at scale. This role is based in San Diego or San Jose/Sunnyvale and focuses on delivering complex, distributed software systems that underpin mission-critical applications.

You will partner closely with senior engineers, technical leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to plan, execute, and deliver software infrastructure projects with precision and velocity. Unlike product or program management, this role is deeply rooted in technical project execution—coordinating engineering teams, managing dependencies across systems, and driving delivery excellence from sprint planning through deployment.

Candidates should have a proven track record of thriving in fast-paced, engineering-driven environments that demand technical rigor, cross-team collaboration, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end delivery of complex software infrastructure projects, ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met.
  • Define and refine technical execution plans, sprint goals, and delivery milestones with engineering teams.
  • Establish project governance and delivery frameworks optimized for iterative software development.
  • Continuously monitor project velocity, resource allocation, and inter-team dependencies to proactively mitigate risk.
  • Partner with engineering leads to translate high-level architecture and platform goals into actionable delivery plans.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams.

Core Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical project management experience in high-performance software infrastructure or platform engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing distributed systems, backend services, or infrastructure software projects with 10+ engineers.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to align multiple engineering teams on delivery goals and manage complex cross-functional dependencies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and technical fluency when working with senior engineers and architects.
  • Skilled at communicating complex technical issues and delivery status to both engineering and executive audiences.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with C++ or Python-based software development projects.
  • Experience managing high-reliability, low-latency, or high-availability systems.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, microservices architectures, or scalable data systems.
  • Previous experience at a high-performance technology startup is highly valued.
  • Government clearance is preferred.

Our Values

1. Be Fearless: Unmute yourself. Test boundaries and get proven right.

2. Remain Adaptable: Stay comfortable in a continuously changing world. If you’re wrong, concede and move on.

3. Educate Your Ego: Selflessly collaborate towards our shared purpose.

Benefits

• Medical, Dental, & Vision

• Equity & IRA

• WFH Hardware (computer, desk, chair, etc.)
