DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will serve as a Treatment Team Director, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and oversee intensive psychiatric treatment of mentally and emotionally ill patients. You will perform formal and comprehensive psychiatric assessments, write orders for treatment and studies, make daily rounds, perform psychotherapy and counseling, and lead a team formulating treatment plans. This role requires effective communication to consult with professionals, patients, and families, as well as a genuine desire to ensure personalized patient care. In addition, you will facilitate discharge planning and appropriate community placement, participate in hospital committees to enhance both patient care and staff performance, and ensure dignified and humane treatment of patients at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • You may be on-call for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirements:
  • You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
