Overview

Make operational teams effortlessly leverage insights from real-world industrial data, accelerating continuous improvement immediately. You'll personally ensure the data existsdesigning and deploying new solutions where it doesn'tand pave the path towards sophisticated predictive analytics, simulation, and Digital Twin technologies. Initially, youll be deeply hands-on, proactively working through ambiguity to build from scratch. As you succeed, you'll strategically build and lead a lean, scrappy, and highly capable team.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and hands-on implementation of our data pipelines, from physical sensor integration at the edge to analytics-ready data platforms.
• Work backwards from essential operational insights, ensuring reliable data availability, impeccable quality, and usability from day one.
• Deploy robust Statistical Process Control (SPC) solutions to continuously monitor, predict, and optimize industrial machinery performance.
• Proactively prototype and rapidly deploy new sensor integrations or edge-based solutions where current data collection falls short.
• Quickly iterate and scale custom sensor hardware, software interfaces, and edge compute infrastructure, even if initial solutions must be scrappy to validate value.
• Provide intuitive tooling enabling operational engineers to analyze, visualize, and act on hardware-generated telemetry data in real-time.
• Deeply influence hardware and software integration choices to ensure data-driven operational decision-making from the ground up.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data is undeniable: confidently prove data validity whenever challenged.
• Initially operate as a high-level individual contributor, demonstrating deep technical mastery and hands-on skill, then progressively recruit, mentor, and manage a capable, execution-focused team.
• Foster a culture of extreme ownership, accountability, and bias-for-action.

Requirements

• Demonstrated track record of personally designing and deploying complex, hardware-driven data collection systems from scratch in industrial automation, robotics, fleet IoT, or similar physically-embedded environments.
• Deep technical expertise in edge computing, telemetry protocols (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, OPC-UA), SCADA systems (such as Ignition), PLCs, HMIs, or equivalent industrial automation technologies.
• Proven ability to select, integrate, and bring new sensor hardware online, rapidly prototyping and iterating solutions under uncertainty or constrained timelines.
• Strong hands-on software engineering capabilitiesideally proficient with modern languages such as Go, Python, or equivalentand comfortable quickly deploying solutions in ambiguous environments.
• Demonstrable track record of independently leading technical projects end-to-end, even without formal team structures initially.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience building data platforms that support simulation, Digital Twin technologies, or advanced predictive analytics solutions.
• Prior roles in scrappy, fast-paced startups or growth-stage companies requiring rapid iteration and extreme ownership.
• Background in highly data-driven environments dependent on precise monitoring and control of physical assets, such as industrial automation, fleet robotics, aerospace telemetry, infrastructure monitoring, or similar fields.

Compensation Range: $145K - $254K
