Role Overview:
This position offers the opportunity to provide consulting, analytics, and training services in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). You will also support the development and implementation of cutting-edge digital quality measures (dQMs) for hospitals and other healthcare settings, applying your analytical skills and public-health expertise to deliver meaningful insights.
What You'll Do:
As a successful candidate, you will:
Access and analyze complex datasets from diverse sources.
Conduct analyses using SAS and Python, interpreting and presenting your findings to stakeholders.
Manipulate and clean datasets, ensuring quality control of analytic deliverables.
Provide clear, actionable advice on data-science methodologies to clients, colleagues, and management.
Translate client needs into formal requirements and deliver project updates and presentations.
Collaborate on the planning and development of healthcare-quality measurement programs.
Stay current on trends in public health to maintain and grow your expertise in the field.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field, with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
Strong experience using SAS to import and manipulate data, as well as perform quality-control analyses.
Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis.
Experience working with large datasets, including data cleaning, merging files from different platforms, and conducting quality control.
Experience with quality assurance or user acceptance testing, particularly with healthcare data.
An ability to quickly learn new tasks and adapt to changing environments.
A keen attention to detail when developing materials, troubleshooting issues, and reporting results.
The ability to successfully complete a Public Trust Level 5 background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Experience importing various data formats (XML, JSON, CSV, XSLX) into SAS.
Experience working with national datasets or contracts.
Familiarity with data modernization or automation processes.

This is a 100% remote position, with the exception of an annual in-person company meeting (conditions permitting).

Compensation:
$90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
