Contract: W2, March, 2025 – July, 2025

Location: New York, NY 10038 (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $50-55/hour DOE

Brief Summary

The Senior Designer is responsible for creating commercially viable product designs for a mid-to-high-volume category/collection. This role involves presenting and delivering brand-right designs that align with the overall concept and business strategy, ensuring consistency in style, color/print, fit, and fabric. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the brand and the ability to inspire and lead others while managing design projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.
  • Design seasonal products focusing on style, fit, and fabric while meeting cost and production goals.
  • Adapt designs based on feedback and incorporate necessary changes for finalization.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and product development teams to ensure alignment with brand vision.
  • Research fashion trends and conduct competitor analysis to drive innovative design solutions.
  • Present designs to leadership and key stakeholders, providing creative direction and justifications.
  • Oversee execution of design sketches, prototypes, and specifications.
  • Inspire and mentor junior designers to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environment.
  • Strong creative ability with a keen eye for commercial fashion styling and performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and experience with Centric (a plus).
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid schedule in New York City.
