Senior Copywriter, Content (Travel and Hospitality Industry Client)
Scope: 4 Month w2 Contract-To-Hire, includes options for benefits, PTO, and Holiday. Hybrid 4 days onsite, Fridays Remote.
Hourly Rate: 35-40
Conversion Salary: 75k to 80k
Additional Notes: We’re looking for someone with a strong editorial background, experience creating web content including UX messaging, and proficiency in implementing SEO.
POSITION SUMMARY
The right candidate for this role is a compelling storyteller with expert-level editorial chops and a passion for travel. You’ll need to be equally adept at optimizing online content — a solid foundation in web strategy, experience in UX writing, and a keen understanding of SEO. You’ll craft short and long-form content, with the ability to distill multi-layered product information into blog-style articles, guides, infographics, and merchandising modules that are both digestible and engaging. Writing excellent content that delivers on brief is a given, but you’ll also leverage an understanding of our product and priorities to shape that content and contribute story ideas in editorial meetings, maximizing conversion and delivering on business needs. You’re a skilled editor with a keen eye, able to self-edit and revise others’ work to ensure the best representation of our brand. And most of all, you’re a highly motivated self-starter who can dependably develop content on your own, but also collaborate well with others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create impactful short and long-form web content, infographics and more.
Effectively strike a tonal balance that is natively editorial while staying true to brand and product messaging.
Implement SEO and online content best practices to optimize editorial pages.
Review and revise editorial content from external vendors and freelancers to ensure alignment.
Develop UX content to continually enhance our site visitors’ journey when researching or shopping our products.
Collaborate with project owners and stakeholders across the E-Commerce team to execute on strategies designed to increase organic search, inform readers, and convert consumers.
Partner with Launch project managers, leadership and fellow creatives as needed to deliver exceptional work.
Foster up-to-date and ever-evolving knowledge of our brand’s short and long-term objectives.
Confidently and effectively present creative work to requestors, internal management, channel owners and executive leadership as needed.
Ensure final materials are accurate and of the highest quality, suggesting improvements as needed.
Drive tonal consistency by implementing brand guidelines.
Never miss a deadline and keep clear lines of communication with the team.
Manage multiple project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure all copy considers governing laws, such as registered and trademarked symbols, country of origin, offer communication, etc.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing or related field
5-7 years experience writing in journalism, marketing, advertising or related field
Proficiency in implementing SEO strategies to drive organic search traffic
Experience writing crystal-clear UX messaging to enhance site navigation
Portfolio of real-world work samples showcasing a diverse background
Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with a deep knowledge of English grammar and punctuation
Accuracy, attention to detail and flexibility
Expertise in online media
Time management skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, fostering strong, collaborative relationships with fellow creatives and partners
Software experience in Mac-based applications, including Word
