Job Description

Construction Project Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee large-scale capital development initiatives within a healthcare setting. This role will lead project planning, design coordination, and construction execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, strategic insight, and technical expertise to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major capital construction projects, representing the organization's interests across all phases
  • Lead and coordinate internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Oversee all aspects of project development including planning, design, procurement, construction, inspection, and operational transition
  • Establish project goals, monitor progress, and proactively resolve conflicts or delays
  • Advise senior leadership on project strategy, financial planning, risk mitigation, and implementation decisions
  • Support land acquisition efforts in collaboration with legal counsel and real estate leadership
  • Prepare and present regular updates to executive stakeholders, steering committees, and other decision-makers
  • Make independent decisions that directly impact project outcomes, timelines, and strategic objectives
  • Evaluate project performance across financial, scheduling, staffing, and risk dimensions

Project Execution & Team Collaboration:

  • Manage complex initiatives from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and resource plans using appropriate tools
  • Lead project meetings, prepare documentation (agendas, minutes, summaries), and track task completion
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum
  • Adjust resource allocations and budgets as needed to meet evolving project demands
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership within the project team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in healthcare or institutional environments
  • Strong understanding of project finance, procurement, and contract negotiation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions under limited supervision
