CDL required, but we will pay for your CDL if you don't currently have one!

The Arc Carroll County is hiring School Bus Drivers. As a school bus driver, you will transport special needs children to and from school each morning and afternoon (some mid-day runs as well). Our School Bus Drivers will also conduct pre-trip inspections of their vehicle, maintain trip reports, and adhere to all safety rules and regulations. All school buses have an Assistant who provides support and supervision to the students. School Bus Driver Applicants must also meet requirements of Carroll County Board of Education.

BUS DRIVER BENEFITS:

Hourly Rate: 26.16 per hour

BUS DRIVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - In addition to the above, you will:

• Operate vehicle in a safe manner that complies with all laws, regulations and policies of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, Carroll County Public Schools and The Arc.
• Attend all meetings pre-service and in-service training required by Carroll County Public Schools and The Arc.
• Complete trip reports as requested.
• Take bus to state and county inspections when scheduled.
• Report vehicle defects promptly, in writing, to the Director of Transportation.
• Clean vehicle bi-weekly.
• Maintain a good rapport with Bus Assistant, students, parents, guardians and personnel of the public school system and The Arc Carroll County.
• Contact each parent/guardian at the beginning of each school year, or as needed throughout the school year when changes occur, to introduce yourself, your assistant, and the bus schedule.
