BigFoot Stang is excited to offer this Temp-to-Hire Scale House Operator position - Once you apply, we will reach out to you to schedule a time to talk more about this position.

Starting Pay: $20.00/hr

Schedule: Open, Close and Weekend Availability Required

Location: Portland, OR

Position Overview: The Scale House Operator is a key component to the success of the business. This position welcomes each customer onto the inbound scale, takes note of what they are intending to drop, inspects each load for unacceptable/hazardous material, weighs their vehicle/trailer, and then directs them to the appropriate drop location. Once the customer has dumped their material, they head to the outbound scale where the SHO weighs them out, collects payment, and closes the customers ticket.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use superior customer service while weighing customers in and out of facility
• Determine what customers are dumping and direct them to appropriate area
• Respectfully turn customers toward another facility if they are carrying unaccepted materials
• Communicate with spotters and supervisors over radio as customers come through
• Manage and organize scale house inventory
• Maintain a clean and clear work environment
• Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone
• Open up/unlock scale house operations at the beginning of shift
• Close down/lock up scale house operations at the end of shift

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• High School education or equivalent
• Professional, punctual, and highly motivated work ethic
• Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Cash handling experience
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company
• Must work well in team environment
• Communication skills
• Bilingual is a plus
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
• Must be able to pass standard background check/drug screen
• Must be able to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7am-7pm, Mon-Sun (up to 40 hours)
