Overview: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SAP Security Specialist. The Security Architect should be the primary liaison between functional teams and process owners. Understanding of global security requirements including local privacy laws is essential. Work directly with functional teams to understand the business case and requirements to solve technology-related problems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide the security team to deliver global solutions. Understanding archiving tools and underlying functional transactions in depth is required.

Location: Onsite - Waukegan, IL (willing to accept relocation candidates)

Responsibilities:

1. In-depth understanding of security authorizations and cross-functional impact.
2. Cross-pollination and expertise in SOD.
3. Expertise in GRC rule set updates and impact to existing roles and users.
4. Assist in proof of concepts with process teams to meet business requirements considering overall security architecture of the system.
5. Provide support for defined SAP projects adhering to Abbotts overall SAP strategy.
6. As directed by the security manager, conduct investigations and give technical advice to the adoption or integration of new technologies or alternative approaches and their business impact on SAP landscapes.
7. Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts, and techniques and assists in the development of standards and procedures.
8. Ability to coordinate with external partners and suppliers.
9. Ability to lead requirements gathering workshops for project scoping and estimates. Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
10. Global projects. Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
11. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Responsible for technical configuration/code review/solution testing, user training, and hypercare support.
12. Serve as technical expert or lead projects/programs and technical staff to develop, test, and implement significant new solutions.
13. Improvements or devise new approaches to problems at the division/business unit.
14. Evaluate and recommend new software, utilities, and tools. In specialized systems (i.e., SAP) effectively set options to change the way the program works (configuration responsibilities). Responsible for all project documentation delivery (Change request, testing, system validation).

Required Qualifications:

1. Degree in IT and/or complementary business degree.
2. Work Experience At least 10-13 years of experience in SAP Security, preferably in the health care industry.
3. Prior management experience. Problem determination (experience in root cause analysis) and problem resolution skills.
4. Strong collaboration and partnering skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to senior leaders.
5. Knowledge of business environment, service requirements, and culture.
6. Process skills: an understanding of process costs, ability to work with Service Provider to ensure effective operations and agreed-upon service levels.
7. Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships.
8. Ability to be firm but fair about operational deliverables.
