Sanitation Associate -2 nd Shift : Lena, Illinois
Our customer in Lena, Illinois is a premier food production company seeking hard-working individuals to join their sanitation department. We’re recruiting a Sanitation Associate to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a Sanitation Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitizing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and following safety standards to ensure a clean and compliant production environment.
Responsibilities of the Sanitation Associate:
• Properly store and protect all equipment that cannot get wet
• Disassemble tear-down parts for Clean in Place (CIP) procedures
• Clean, rinse, and sanitize equipment before reassembly
• Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned
• Clean floors, drains, walls, ceilings, overhead piping, light diffusers, and equipment
• Complete daily self-audits on equipment and facility cleanliness
• Store all cleaning supplies appropriately at the end of the shift
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Complete dry cleaning duties as needed
• Fill chemical totes, maintain the chemical room, and ensure it is secured daily
• Other duties as assigned
Sanitation Associate Requirements and Qualifications:
• Ability to push/pull 50 lbs frequently and lift 50 lbs occasionally
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be able to work in hot conditions
• Available to work assigned hours and overtime as needed
• Aware of and committed to sanitary and safety regulations
• Flexible to rotate between different jobs within the department
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred
Pay for Sanitation Associate: Up to $22/hour, with overtime available
