The principal duties of the position are to perform immunology assays including flow cytometry and Luminex, ELISA, ELISPOT immunoassays, sample processing including blood and tissue samples in the Human Immunology Core facility at the University of Pennsylvania. Additional duties include laboratory record-keeping, assistance with updating or validating standard operating procedures, data analysis, data reporting, quality control and instrument maintenance.

Tech A:

This Resource Technologist position reports to the Technical Director of the Human Immunology Core (HIC) Facility at the University of Pennsylvania.This individual is responsible for the performance of immunology assays including flow cytometry, multiplex luminex assay, digital ELISA, ELISA and ELISPOT assays.In addition, this individual will also perform blood / tissue processing, equipment maintenance, reagent selection and validation, and help develop or update standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Tech B:

In addition to the above responsibilities:

This individual will assist the Technical Director with project management, new assay development, data analysis, and results reporting.

Qualifications

Tech A:

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology or related discipline and a minimum of 1 year of laboratory bench experience are required or equivalent combination of education and experience required. In addition, strong written and oral communication abilities are required. Experience in developing SOPs, working under GLP conditions, working with a Laboratory Information Management System, performing flow cytometry and/or validating assays is preferred.

Tech B:

In addition to the above qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of related laboratory bench experience are required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
