Job Description One of the largest logistics and transportation employers in the US is seeking a Jr. Data Engineer to join their expanding team. The Jr. Data Engineer will play a crucial role in understanding business problems and assisting in designing solutions that transform complex ideas into sustainable processes. The role focuses on supporting the onboarding of new lines of business into the data analytics team. Responsibilities include assisting in the full life‑cycle of data engineering from gathering requirements from internal customers to building data pipelines, testing, reporting, and maintaining solutions. Additional tasks involve supporting escalation, contributing to system development, helping automate processes, maintaining internal systems, and assisting in data modeling. The engineer will use growing expertise in data structures specific to the company’s operating systems to turn data into valuable business insights. Required Skills & Experience 2‑5+ years of data engineer experience Strong Azure Data Factory (ADF) experience (creating pipelines from scratch, knowledge of connectors and activities following architect plan) Strong knowledge of SQL (mostly working with SQL scripting implementing into ADF) Understanding of full life‑cycle data engineering Extremely detail oriented and able to provide effective updates Strong communication for working with internal/external customers Strong critical thinking skills Nice to Have Skills & Experience Python or Spark experience (small environment is in Python – basic level scripting and reviews) DevOps experience Databricks experience Background in logistics Agile methodologies Experience with cloud (Azure specifically) Benefits Benefit packages for this role will begin on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401(k) retirement account access with employer matching.
