Job Title: Recovery Coach
Location: Montachusett Recovery Center - Leominster, Massachusetts
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per-diem
Reports to: Program Director / Clinical Supervisor

Montachusett Recovery Center’s mission is to provide safe, compassionate, and judgement-free holistic recovery supports and services, promoting multiple pathways of self-directed and self-determined recovery, with an emphasis on approaches that are peer-centered, community-driven and trauma informed and that continually fosters choice, empowerment, and hope.
Position Summary:
The Recovery Coach is a peer support professional who uses their lived experience with addiction and recovery to provide guidance, motivation, and support to individuals seeking recovery. The coach helps clients set recovery goals, navigate resources, and build a sustainable path to wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a peer mentor to individuals in all stages of recovery.
- Assist participants in creating and following individualized recovery plans.
- Provide support during transitions such as discharge from treatment or incarceration.
- Help individuals access community resources, including treatment, housing, employment, transportation, and support groups.
- Promote recovery, remove barriers, and support individuals in accessing services.
- Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Behaviors of All, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, consumers, and visitors.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with center policies and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision.
Qualifications:
- Must be in personal, sustained recovery for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Completion of Recovery Coach training series and Certification as a Recovery Coach in Massachusetts preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of local resources and recovery community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Strong proficiency in computer-related skills
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or another language.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems with
- Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and multiple recovery pathways.
Work Environment:
- Office-based and community outreach setting.
- Some travel required for home visits, community meetings, or appointments.
