A Pediatric Registered Dietitian II specializing in sports medicine provides outpatient nutritional consultation and treatment to pediatric athletes managing sports-related injuries and eating disorders. This role involves working within interdisciplinary sports medicine clinics and participating in research and community outreach. The position requires expertise in pediatric nutrition, sports dietetics, and eating disorder treatment to support optimal athlete health and performance.
The Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital cares for and champions athletes through interdisciplinary clinical care and cutting-edge research. We support athletes of all ages and experience levels—from professionals to novices—by taking a comprehensive approach to diagnosing, treating, and managing sports injuries and recovery. Our team assesses the whole athlete, including exercise habits, hormone balance, and nutritional needs, to promote optimal health and peak performance. This multidisciplinary team includes experts in sports medicine who understand the importance of athletics in our patients’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide outpatient consultation services to athletes coping with sports-related injuries and medical conditions, including eating disorders/disordered eating
Deliver treatment services within interdisciplinary sports medicine clinics in Boston and Waltham
Participate in research initiatives and community outreach activities
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition
Experience:
Three or more years of progressive experience in dietetics, including at least two years in pediatric nutrition
Minimum one year of experience in sports medicine and 1–2 years of experience in eating disorder treatment highly preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
Registered Dietitian, credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Licensed Dietitian by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within 24 months of hire
