Also providing care in over 70 specialties and subspecialties, including world-class trauma and emergency services while operating the busiest center for these services in New England, is looking for a Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for its 80-bed behavioral health hospital and 26-bed Clinical Stabilization unit!

As a Nurse Practitioner, you are part of dedicated team responsible for assisting a variety of patients by evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge treatment plans. The Nurse Practitioner will collaboratively lead a multidisciplinary team to take care of the mental, emotional or behavioral disorders for patients engaged in services.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventions
• Provide treatment either independently or with physician supervision in accordance with Massachusetts regulations
• Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make adjustments as needed
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
• Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists to assess and adjust treatment plans
• Coordinate and communicate with case managers, family members and other stakeholders regarding treatment and care
• Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees
• Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement programs

Must Haves:

• 2 years MINIMUM of NP experience in an adult, inpatient psychiatric setting - (will not consider candidates with less than 2 yrs NP experience)
• Master’s Degree from a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner Education program (specialization in mental health preferred)
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain reciprocity prior to start
• Current advanced practice certification by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing- approved nationally recognized certifying body
• Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver & Current valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• No Medicare or Medicaid sanctions

Other Requirements: (Preferred)

• Knowledgeable about DMH, DPH, BSAS and TJC requirements for Behavioral Health Facilities
