Overview

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Test Electricians for projects located in the Newport News, VA area . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $32/hour based on experience plus $120/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

• Troubleshooting electrical performance deficiencies
• Reading schematics and determining the cause of the fault in the systems drawings and components
• Working with electrical component systems, contractor relays, overload relays, transformers, terminal boards, LVR low voltage release and LVP low voltage protection
• Test and inspect low medium and high voltage cable installations

Responsibilities

• Minimum of 2+ years experience in the electrical field
• Must be proficient in accurately reading and measuring with tools including tape measures and stick rulers
• Expertise in reading and interpreting shipboard electrical installation drawings wiring tables schematics and work packages
• Must have extensive knowledge of electrical theory
• Solid understanding of LVR low voltage release and LVP low voltage protection
• Proficient in reading and identifying equipment and component label plates
• Experienced in lockout/tag out and hazardous energy control procedures
• Physically able to climb vertical and inclined stairs and ladders crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights and work in confined spaces
