The Georgia Tech Library is a member of the University System of Georgia library consortia, Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education (ARCHE), the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL), and the Association for College and Research Libraries (ACRL). The Georgia Tech Library has a unique and progressive service model that relies heavily on technology and electronic formats. Electronic resources account for 79% of our overall content, 98% of the Library's content expenditures and 99% of our content usage and the majority of our print collections are held in a high-density, climate-controlled storage facility in collaboration with Emory University Libraries. The GT Library works to fulfill the mission and vision of Georgia Tech and is committed to supporting the Institute's new Strategic Plan. Job SummaryThe Library () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a Systems Librarian to facilitate innovative and collaborative efforts to support the Georgia Tech Library's collection management, access, and discovery platforms. Partnering with library stakeholders and technologists, the Systems Librarian will serve as an administrator and main technical lead for the Library's collection management and discovery systems, primarily Ex Libris' Alma/Primo. Working both independently and collaboratively, lead projects and initiatives to improve workflows, implement integrations, assess Library tools, and find creative solutions to improve upon the management and discovery of library resources. This role has responsibility for maintaining optimal system performance for users and the development of services based on the functionality and capabilities of Alma and Primo. The Systems Librarian is expected to serve on internal and external committees and collaborate with partners across the state. This position will report to the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarly Access and work in close collaboration with Library Information Technology.As a member of the University System of Georgia, the GT Library is committed to supporting the USG migration to FOLIO in 2025. This position will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the USG in support of the migration. Worksite location is Atlanta, GA and hybrid.
This is a 12-month faculty position with an effort distribution of 80% excellence in Librarianship or Research Science work,10% scholarship, and 10% professional service to the library profession. Up to two (2) years credit for previous professional experience may be given at the time of employment, in which case such credit will be stated in the offer letter. The Georgia Tech Library Faculty may enjoy flexible work schedules, professional development, and a healthy work-life balance.
This is a hybrid position, regular onsite time along with some teleworking hours is supported.
ResponsibilitiesThis position vacancy will be filled at the rank of Librarian II, Librarian III, or Librarian IV. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Non-tenure Track Academic Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook (faculty-handbook/3.2.2-non-tenure-track-academic-faculty-members-hiring-and-promotion-guidelines).

This is a benefits-eligible position with a minimum salary of $82,500 commensurate with education and experience.
