Overview:
Bishops Bay Country club is seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for customer service. Working as a Golf Assistant Intern at a prestigious country club offers an immersive experience in an upscale environment, where you'll engage closely with members, support a high-standard golf operation, and gain hands-on experience in customer service, merchandising, and golf instruction. Expect opportunities to build meaningful relationships with members, assist in various areas of golf operations, and even play golf with members. This role provides a unique opportunity to refine your skills in golf shop management, customer service, and event coordination, setting the foundation for a rewarding career in golf and hospitality.

• Dates: May-August 2025 (flexible)
• PGA Golf Management Students: Successful applicants may be eligible to extend their internship through the fall in order to satisfy the PGA Golf Management requirements. Inquire at the start of the application process. 
• Hours: 40-50 per week

• Build strong relationships with club members, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support junior golf lessons and camps, engaging with younger golfers.
• Assist the Professional Staff in managing a first-class golf operation.
• Maintain a presence in the Golf Shop, on the 1st tee, practice facility, and golf course.
• Provide support to the Merchandiser, handling merchandising duties, including product displays, inventory, special orders, and product selection.
• Participate in golf activities with members, enhancing the club experience.
• Assist with daily operations, including:
• Opening and closing the Golf Shop.
• Supporting tournament operations for members and external groups.
• Managing merchandising and inventory control.
• Handling member special orders.
• Performing basic club repair, such as regripping, reshafting, and adjusting loft & lie angles.
• Monitoring course traffic and pace of play.
• Shadowing lessons and fittings to gain valuable instructional experience.
• Overseeing outside service staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, upscale private facility and adapt quickly while delivering top-tier customer service.
• Strong member recognition skills, remembering names and preferences to personalize interactions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including walking, lifting, bending, and standing.
• Prior experience in golf operations (preferred but not required).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for providing outstanding customer service.
