Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.

Pay: The base pay for this position is $23.08/ hour, plus 50% personal training commissions.

Work Hours: The position has a 40 hour work week, Monday-Friday. Candidates will need to be available to work both the 6am-2 pm and 11 am to 7 pm shifts on alternating days.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach group fitness classes
• Conduct personal training sessions
• Supervise exercise areas
• Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
• Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
• Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
• Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
• Explain all equipment
• Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
• Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
• Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
• Attend staff meetings
• Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
• Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health/fitness field OR an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
• Active CPR certification
• US Citizen (required for clearance purposes)
• 0-1+ years experience in supervising adults during exercises
