Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Job seekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support, and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations. $75,000 - $110,000

• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases
• Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients

• Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
• Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
• Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
• Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations

• Bilingual in Spanish and/or French
• A bachelor’s degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree is required
• 2-3 years of experience working with family law is required
• Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) 
• Ability to successfully represent both the plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
