PURPOSE Work side by side with the project manager, property owners and other construction subcontractors on construction sites. Supervise all phases at the construction site including the construction crew. Perform construction related tasks involving physical labor at building, heavy construction projects and demolition sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
- Monitor processes, materials, events, the environment and all job site surroundings to review, detect and assess problem that may arise.
- Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment: Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing all health and safety standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations.
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Coordinating and supervising activities of workers and construction needs for all phases.
- Train construction crew on the job site and ensure appropriate and safe use of all equipment.
- Allotting workers to their respective duties and making sure that they have the appropriate training and tools so that they can execute their jobs appropriately and safely.
- Working with sub-contractors while monitoring and controlling their performance.
- Making sure regulatory needs and safety measures are maintained.
- Communicate project progress to the Project Manager.
- Perform physical activities and operate appropriate tools and equipment on job sites.
- Work in a Construction Crew capacity and Construction Foreman responsibilities.
- Knowledge of construction procedures, methods, practices, precautions, materials, equipment, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology such as applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining person networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Must attend all Safety Meetings and complete all required Safety Training in a timely manner.
- Have good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Have knowledge of project management, supervision and delegation skills
- Have good written and verbal communication, leadership, motivation, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to do physical labor at a constant pace while working efficiently with a team or independently while possessing a positive attitude.

ABILITY TO COMMUTE / RELOCATE: - Plainview, MN: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Certain positions within this class are subject to DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing as outlined in 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 382 (by assignment).
