Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to lead business development and outreach for our growing marketing agency. This role is pivotal in expanding our client base through market analysis, lead generation, and strong relationship-building. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales or marketing strategy and the drive to grow with an agency from the ground up.

This is a commission-only 1099 contractor position to start, ideal for self-motivated professionals who want flexibility and high earning potential. A salaried + commission hybrid role may be offered after 6 months based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute outreach strategies to drive new client acquisition
• Conduct local and regional market research to identify trends, opportunities, and decision-makers
• Generate leads through cold calling, door-to-door visits, networking events, and digital outreach
• Pitch and sell marketing services (branding, website design, content marketing, digital strategy, etc.)
• Negotiate contracts and close deals with small businesses and nonprofit organizations
• Maintain accurate records of leads, contacts, and deals in a simple CRM or tracking system
• Report weekly progress and pipeline updates to the agency owner
• Represent the agency professionally at local events, networking functions, and in the community ( as needed )
• Identify opportunities to upsell clients at the time of sale, where applicable

Compensation Structure

This is a commission-only 1099 contractor role with uncapped earning potential. You’ll be paid a one-time commission for each new client you sign, with earnings based on the value of the client’s contract.

Highlights include:

• Commissions start at 15% per client signed and potentially earning up to $1,500+ for larger clients
• $500 bonus for contracts valued at $65,000+
• $1,000 bonus for contracts valued at $100,000+
• Average contractors can earn $20,000–$50,000+/year depending on performance
• Bonus opportunities available for consistent performance and hitting monthly or quarterly goals
• After 6 months, top performers may be offered a salaried + commission role

Commissions are paid after the client signs and their first payment is received. All compensation is tied directly to performance and client acquisition.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sales, business development, or marketing strategy
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Experience with cold calling, lead gen, and outreach
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with marketing agency services (or willingness to learn)
• Self-motivated and disciplined; able to manage time independently
• Technical sales or nonprofit experience is a plus
• Comfortable working as a 1099 contractor with flexible hours
