Velocity Commercial Capital, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Velocity Financial, Inc, an NYSE-listed public company. Velocity Commercial Capital is a real estate finance company founded in 2004 that primarily originates and manages investor loans secured by 1–4-unit residential rental and small commercial properties. Velocity Commercial Capital is seeking to hire a full-time Commercial Review Appraiser. This position is located at the offices in Westlake Village, CA. A Real Estate Analyst is accountable for various functions of real estate valuation for the company and is responsible in maintaining high levels of service and superior quality of the valuation process. Duties and Responsibilities Upon receipt of the appraisal reports, performs comprehensive appraisal reviews for USPAP, FIRREA and master credit policy compliance Confirms property level details with data sources and public records to avoid overstating the market value Cash flow analyses and income projections for commercial real estate Requires knowledge base and communication skills to follow-up with vendors and appropriately resolve errors, discrepancies and valuation issues Assist the Appraisal Coordinator as applicable in the on-going qualification and documentation of third-party appraiser competencies, areas of coverage and limitations in RIMS Requires significant interaction with account executives, processors, underwriters and third-party appraisal venders. Pro-actively supports Chief Appraiser in administering exceptional appraisal services for the company Provides customer service to internal and external business customers in a professional and timely manner Responsible for maintaining and expanding list of approved appraisers nationwide Monthly revaluations on existing impaired loans Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief Appraiser Required Skills and Experience Certified General appraiser license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience Must have excellent knowledge of commercial real estate and appraisal practice. Knowledge of USPAP and FIRREA guidelines and regulations pertaining to Real Estate Appraisals Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, solid analytical skills, organizational and time-management skills Must be professional, a quick learner, take initiative, be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workflows Must have strong skills in Work, Excel and Outlook Compensation and Benefits Salary range depending on experience: $100,000-$150,000 401(k) with 3% matching contribution Employee Stock Purchasing Program Paid time off Velocity Mortgage Capital is an equal opportunity employer.
