Job Title: Personal Injury Plaintiff Claims Adjuster (Licensed)

Job Summary:

The  Personal Injury Plaintiff Claims Adjuster is responsible for managing, evaluating, and negotiating insurance claims for individuals (plaintiffs) who have suffered physical injuries. This position requires a RI state-issued claims adjuster license and expertise in investigating incidents, assessing damages and liability, and securing fair compensation for clients within policy terms and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and analyze personal injury claims by reviewing police reports, medical records, witness statements, and any supporting documentation.
  • Interview claimants, witnesses, and other involved parties to gather relevant information and clarify the sequence of events.
  • Assess bodily injuries and damages , including calculating lost wages and potential future losses, and consulting with medical professionals as needed.
  • Determine liability by analyzing applicable laws, statements, and available evidence such as video footage or photographs.
  • Negotiate settlements directly with insurance companies to obtain fair compensation for clients and respond to insurer offers with detailed justifications.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive claim reports , documenting all research, site visits, interviews, and communications for internal and legal purposes.
  • Ensure all claims activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel when needed to discuss the merits of claims, manage litigation, and support trial preparations.
  • Provide guidance and empathetic communication to claimants throughout the claims process, building trust and transparency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active state-issued insurance adjuster license (required).
  • Proven experience adjusting personal injury claims, preferably, but not a requirement, for plaintiff/claimant side or as an independent adjuster.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal injury law, insurance policy interpretation, and negotiation strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and reach sound conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage sensitive information, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with field investigations, including scene inspections and evidence collection.
  • Prior work with both direct insurance carriers and independent adjusting agencies is an asset.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, depending on client base.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid work environment (office and/or remote)

Licensure Requirement:

Applicants must hold a valid and current state-issued insurance adjuster license at time of application and maintain it throughout employment.
