Job Description
- Develop and implement BIM protocols and design technology standards for the firm
- Develop the technical documentation of existing and new workflows and modeling techniques
- Create presentations, training, and workflow guidelines and periodically lead training sessions
- Promote tools that increase efficiency in the project delivery process
- Research new/emerging software solutions for application in design and production
- Champion software solutions within architecture practice
- Ensure project BIM execution plan creation, adherence, and success
- Participate and contribute to BIM Technology Team and BIM Automation Team meetings
- Provide BIM support and technical assistance to team members
- Coordinate with firm knowledge resource groups to align developed software solutions with architectural practice
- Develop software solutions to improve routine design, modeling, and documentation tasks
- Advise on standards development so operational processes support or facilitate automation
- Build and identify software solutions focused on elevating architectural design and practice
- Maintain and develop solutions internally for compatibility with multiple versions of Revit
- Make public presentations
- Be a thought leader
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in the AEC industry with at least 4 years experience in BIM (Revit) Management
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural technology, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit
- Extensive knowledge of BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Extensive knowledge of BIM practices, standards, and techniques
- Working knowledge of additional design applications such as Bluebeam, NavisWorks, Dynamo, FormIt, Autodesk Platform Services, InfraWorks, Rhino, and energy modeling software
- Familiarity with building/life safety/local codes, building specifications, and construction means/methods
- Familiarity with SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Microsoft Suite
- Thorough knowledge of typical AEC processes, relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends
- Excellent time management, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - Ability to implement new software and train staff on efficience
- Proficiency with IMAGINiT Clarity, Unifi, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, and Ideate software a plus
- Proficiency in Python, C#, Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Revit API a plus
- Ability to train teams in relevant workflows and software packages and clearly articulate advanced concepts that team members of all levels can understand
- Learn quickly and experiment or troubleshoot to find new solution
- Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others
- Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor
