The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Otolaryngology is currently seeking a full time Audiology Assistant 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Audiology Assistant 2 performs tasks that are prescribed, directed, and supervised by a certified and/or licensed audiologist. The Audiology Assistant 2 serves as a mentor to Audiology Assistant 1s, through supporting their training and professional advisement. This position ensures clinics remain on time and can cover for all areas of Audiology Assistant responsibility as needed. Core job functions include assisting Audiologist in audiological testing and evaluation, ensuring proper fitting of hearing devices and technology, performing hearing aid orientation, demonstrating care and maintenance of hearing devices to patients and caregivers, supporting training of junior assistants, submitting signed consents to healthcare centers for retrieval of medical records, preparing treatment rooms, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, assisting with examinations, maintaining accurate patient records, providing basic instruction to patients, organizing and stocking audiology rooms, discarding expired supplies, maintaining clinic cleanliness, assisting with clerical duties, utilizing IDX RIS/PACS to track patient arrival times, greeting patients, documenting equipment issues, performing daily biologic checks of audiological equipment, reporting unusual incidents, and other duties as assigned. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Audiology Assistant Certification completion within the first three months of employment, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Skills needed include attention to detail, ability to analyze and prioritize work under pressure, discretion with confidential information, commitment to University values, ability to work independently or collaboratively, and multitasking.
