We are seeking a dynamic and experienced AP Accountant to join our vibrant team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is ready to apply their skills and knowledge to a fast-paced, diverse, and growing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with specific experience in Accounts Payable (AP). The role requires advanced proficiency in Excel, Great Plains, Ledger, and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
As a AP Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that ensure the smooth and efficient running of our financial operations. Your duties will include:
1. Managing the full cycle of accounts payable activities including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
2. Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
3. Reconciling AP transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Assisting with month-end closing processes and preparing financial statements.
5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
6. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
7. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
8. Collaborating with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. 3+ years of experience in an AP Accountant role or similar.
2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
3. Experience with Great Plains and Ledger software.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles, data analysis, and forecasting.
5. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Proven ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and vendors.
9. A proactive attitude and the ability to identify and solve problems independently.
