Summary:

The Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating a comprehensive annual giving program that supports the organizations fundraising goals. This includes managing multi-channel appeals, donor acquisition, monthly giving, and cultivation strategies with a strong focus on segmentation and donor migration through the gift pipeline. The position also plays a lead role in utilizing the EveryAction CRM platform to analyze donor behavior, enhance giving strategies, and maintain data accuracy.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager works collaboratively across the Advancement team to develop meaningful relationships with donors and implement innovative strategies to build and retain a strong base of annual support for environmental conservation.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, implement, and manage all components of the annual fund, including direct mail, email, digital campaigns, and targeted outreach.
  • Manage and grow the monthly giving program; cultivate new sustaining members.
  • Develop and execute strategies for donor acquisition, migration, and stewardship.
  • Draft compelling appeal content and coordinate delivery across platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Database Administrator to glean actionable insights from donor data to improve segmentation, retention, and acquisition efforts.
  • Manage and implement timely gift acknowledgment processes.
  • Utilize the EveryAction CRM to track donor behavior and inform campaign planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure membership and donor records are accurate and support fundraising efforts.
  • Lead bi-weekly donor strategy meetings to review moves management, prospect lists, and campaign performance.
  • Provide donor engagement materials, reports, and updates to the Chief Advancement Officer, Executive Director, and Board members as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Advancement team to ensure donor-facing messages align with the organizations voice and mission.
  • Support internal goal setting and analysis by providing KPIs, tracking progress toward revenue benchmarks, and recommending adjustments.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Authorities:

  • Manage and execute the annual giving program, including strategic planning, appeal content, and donor segmentation.
  • Act as point of contact for donor engagement initiatives related to annual fund giving.
  • Lead monthly donor growth strategy and stewardship.
  • Make recommendations to the Chief Advancement Officer on donor communications and data-driven fundraising strategies.
  • Coordinate internally with Finance and CRM Administrator on gift processing and reporting.

  • Strong written communication and donor-focused messaging
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Data-driven decision-making and ability to interpret and apply donor analytics
  • CRM proficiency (EveryAction or similar donor database)
  • Understanding of donor pipelines and segmentation strategies
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential donor information
  • Collaborative and proactive team member with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Comfort with public-facing roles, including direct donor interaction and stewardship communication

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in non profit management, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • 35 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with direct responsibility for annual giving programs
  • Proficiency with CRM/database systems (EveryAction preferred)
  • Demonstrated success managing direct response fundraising (email, mail, digital)
  • Experience analyzing fundraising performance metrics and applying insights
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Experience working in environmental or advocacy-focused nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with EveryAction tools including donor segmentation, tagging, reporting, and email integration
  • Experience with donor pipeline strategy and integration with major gift programs
  • Familiarity with fundraising software integrations (email platforms, giving pages, analytics tools)

The position operates in a professional office environment located in Charleston, SC.
