Join LEIDOS as an Airport Project Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing commercial airport projects. This dynamic position involves engaging in all stages of project lifecycle management, ensuring successful deployment of next-generation airport security systems across the United States.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead project management efforts at assigned airports, conducting site surveys, validations, and design support, while maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.

• Manage multiple projects (5 - 7) simultaneously, adapting to various lifecycle stages with expertise.

• Direct daily operations for geographically assigned teams, providing guidance to site technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.

• Facilitate effective communication among TSA HQ, local TSA, airport stakeholders, operations management, and other involved parties.

• Utilize expert judgment to conduct requirements analysis, review design outputs, oversee construction, and ensure successful project close-outs.

• Monitor project schedules diligently and communicate potential delays to manage costs effectively.

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating high energy, initiative, and adaptability.

• Be prepared for travel to various airport locations, expecting up to 75% travel and potential work during evenings or weekends.

• Lead meetings and develop agendas, ensuring organized communication within the team.

• Multi-task efficiently while being responsive to requests for information, schedule updates, and forward planning.

• Punctuality and reliability are crucial, as the site lead plays a key role in project timelines.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience.

• 3 years of Project Management experience, preferably in construction, including 2 years in an airport environment.

• Proven track record as a Project Manager, delivering projects on time and on budget.

• Experience working with diverse stakeholders on complex projects.

• Strong background in planning and developing design alternatives for construction projects.

• Management experience overseeing field staff and subcontractors.

• Ability to navigate compliance issues with federal, state, and local authorities.

• In-depth knowledge of airport construction best practices and standards.

• Familiarity with Checkpoint Requirements Planning Guide (CRPG) for Checkpoint operations.

• A self-starter who can work independently within cross-functional teams.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. Degree in a technical field such as Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management.

• Experience with TSA operations at checkpoints or security locations.

• Background in Transportation Security Equipment (TSE) deployment management, particularly in the Central US region.

• Professional certifications (Licensed PE, PMI® PMP, or General Contractor License) are a plus.

• Knowledgeable in MS Project or other scheduling software.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and act as a liaison with customers and stakeholders.
