Compensation Range: $55,955.00 - $78,336.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

The Advancement Prospect Research Analyst is responsible for conducting research to support Advancement in identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors whose philanthropic resources and interests align with university philanthropic opportunities. The position will utilize public information and subscription-based resources to compile biographic, business, philanthropic, and financial data into concise analytic reports. With coordination and direction from the Director of Prospect Research, this position is responsible for executing prospect research activities for the University of Rochester's Principal Giving, Presidential Advancement, and Trusts, Estates, and Gift Planning offices. The Advancement Prospect Research Analyst will manage research requests focused on specific prospects, produce profiles and other similar work products, monitor current events news coverage, and collaborate with the Director to execute proactive prospect identification projects.

Essential Functions

  • Research, analyze, and interpret personal, business, philanthropic, and financial information from fundraising information systems and external sources as appropriate.
  • Evaluate a prospect's financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and University connections for strategic donor engagement activities. Deliver relevant information and insights to fundraising partners through concise analysis.
  • Collaborate with Prospect Development team members to define information, technology, training, and other resource needs, and appropriately steward resources assigned for prospect research.
  • Continue to develop industry knowledge on emerging trends and best practices for prospect research, and implement new approaches as appropriate.
  • Work directly with assigned unit leadership, gift officers, and support staff to define their prospect research needs.
  • Enhance the value and effective use of research throughout the moves management process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
